Nurturing Resilience: Cultivating a Workplace Culture of Care and Belonging

Psychologically safe environments, in which people feel secure and valued, include an awareness and integration of a stress-responsive, trauma-informed, resilience-centered approach. This approach prioritizes the well-being of individuals and teams while fostering the conditions for resilience, safety, equity, and belonging. It empowers staff to navigate the emotional demands of their work, including secondary trauma, by building a foundation of care and support. Key elements of this approach include:

  • The Science of Stress, Secondary Trauma, and Resilience: developing an understanding of how stress and secondary trauma affect the body and brain, influencing how we relate to ourselves and others.

  • Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion: deepening understanding of how stress and trauma affect marginalized communities, particularly Black, Indigenous & People of Color (BIPOC) employees, by examining power dynamics, historical contexts, and inequities.

  • Human-centered practices: emphasizes the diverse experiences of staff and prioritizes their biological, emotional, and developmental needs.

Emotional Intelligence in the Workplace:

This workshop will provide participants with an understanding of what EQ is, what it is not and why it is important in the workplace.  Participants will leave with practical strategies for developing emotional intelligence and applying it to real-world situations to achieve personal and professional goals. (This workshop is best done in tandem with the EQ-i 2.0 assessment)

Strategic/Vision Planning for Teams:

In this workshop, participants engage in creative techniques to collectively identify their “future state”.  Anchoring to this collective desired state, the group will identify where they are currently in relation to that future state.  Together the team will identify what action they will need to take to move from their current state towards their future state.  The goal of this process is for the group to walk away with a shared vision of the future as well as clear steps for getting there.

Values Development for Teams:

Being anchored to a shared set of values supports a strong foundation for highly successful and effective teams. This workshop will support teams in clearly identifying their top values, while also collectively clarifying and committing to what those values look like in action for the team.

Coaching Skills for Leaders:

Coaching skills equip leaders with tools for effectively motivating and connecting with teams on a deeper level.  These skills also help leaders uncover what may be getting in the way of staff engagement, their ability to navigate and adapt to change, and barriers to more expansive innovation and effectiveness.
